Routes

The Bike Tour offers riders a choice of four out-and-back routes of 5, 11, 22, and 44 miles beginning at Mellow Park in Peckville, Pennsylvania. Click here for a chart to download with complete route descriptions and start times. The Bike Tour also offers the "Blakely Lokie Bike Rally" at Mellow Park for young riders 10 years and under. The Rally features fun, interactive activities for the kids that encourage bike safety and good bike handling techniques.

  • The Bike Tour takes place rain or shine.
  • Riders are strongly encouraged to use mountain bikes or hybrid bikes. Road bikes are not suitable for the trail portion of the rides.
  • The four routes extend from Mellow Park north on a combination of the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail and quiet neighborhood streets. The 44-mile Union Dale Pusher also uses the Ontario and Western (O&W) Rail-Trail and the Delaware and Hudson (D&H) Rail-Trail into the Endless Mountains.
  • All of the trails are inviting with wide pathways, packed gravel surfaces, and gentle inclines that are generally under 4% grade.
  • Each route has Station Stops on the course with water, snacks, and fun activities. Marshals will patrol the course, and all street sections will be marked and safely staffed with flaggers.
